ABOUT

The purpose of the Land Environment Working Group (LEWG) 2026 is to update industry on current and emerging land capability priorities and investment plans within a collaborative environment.

The event offers industry the opportunity to engage directly with Army, providing early input and feedback to inform land capability planning.

The event is chaired by Head Land Capability (HLC) Major General Richard Vagg. Head Land Systems (HLS) Major General Jason Blain, and representatives from the Vice Chief of Defence Force (VCDF) group, contribute to topic development and support the delivery of working group sessions. Professor Peter Dean will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Day one of the LEWG will be held at Hotel Realm at an UNCLASSIFIED level. The agenda includes plenary sessions in the morning, followed by concurrent deep-dive working group sessions in the afternoon focussed on current and future developments across key land capability areas.

Day two of the LEWG will be held at HMAS Harman, and includes a series of CLASSIFIED working group sessions. To be eligible to attend Day Two, participants must hold a valid Negative Vetting 1 security clearance or higher and must have attend Day One of the event.
